Yo! This here's Lunch, alpha dog, bark meister, hound about town. I'm not sure what my human, Monte Workman, was thinking, naming me after a meal I don't even get fed, but I rarely know what he's thinking, period.

But enough about me for the moment. I want to talk about these pictures Monte makes. I don't know much about art, but I know what I like. And except for an occasional lapse in taste we're talking cats, for heaven's sake, and even birds or lizards - he mostly paints dogs. So the subject matter is excellent.

His technique is terrific, too. Lots of color. Nice light. And you can always recognize the subjects, but they look... well, fresh. Interesting. Your best friend shown at his or her best.

The only thing that could use improvement is the aroma. There's just this faint smell of paint at the start, then nada. Rubbing a little meat or fish on the canvasses would add a whole sensory dimension, especially when the bouquet ripens. But does Monte pay attention to my suggestions? Nooooo.
